Farewell Jimmie

We are all here to say a fond farewell to Jimmie Pitts.

A man who has travelled farther than most, and has done a lot more than most.

A man who had a vision of a chocolate empire, sadly that was not to be.

He tried so hard to forge this dream and turn it into reality. It was my privilege to be part of that dream.

Jimmie was a quiet and gentle man, and it was my pleasure to know him during the last phase of his life.

Alas he has to go on his journey that all men must make and today is the day that he has to go.

Yet, it is not the end, more it is part of a cycle where the good things continue and any bad things get left behind.

Maybe there is a lesson here for us all.

That lesson is to cherish the good things and the good people that you find on the path of life.

To leave the bad things behind.

Good things cherished far outweigh the hatred and loathing of bad things...leave the bad things behind.

The next time you enjoy a glass of wine, fine food, good chocolates, or a rare orchid, please savour the moment, and spare a thought or two for Jimmie.

Farewell Jimmie,

Bon voyage.

The Ashes Scattering Ceremony was held on 29th June 2009 at 4:00 pm at Diamond Hill Garden of Remembrance Hong Kong.

I am here today to complete the last ceremony for Jimmie Pitts.

To scatter his ashes here at Diamond Hill Garden of Remembrance;

Where his ashes will mingle with the soil and be reborn into flowers, and butterflies and other good things of the Earth to continue with life, until they too become part of the soil.

This is a time for cherishing and appreciating the good things that we have, things that we can see, hear, and feel.

Jimmie is to become part of the good things we have on this Earth.

Try and remember the bird songs you hear.

The fluttering of butterflies and the hum of the dragonflies and the bees;

The glow of the fireflies at night;

The hues and tints of the wild flowers and the birds;

The taste of fresh fruit and good wine;

The spectacle of the stars in the night sky;

The singing of the cicada and the croaking of frogs, to the pattering of falling rain;

The sparkle of the rainbow and the crash of the ocean waves on the rocks.

Jimmie is to become all of these good things in spirit.

Jimmie had his time here on Earth and he has made good use of it.

It is time for us all to appreciate the good things around us and to observe more of the beauty that is in our every day lives.

Focus and cherish the good things of life…for there is part of Jimmie in all of them.

Farewell Jimmie, bon voyage.

Please accept our condolences at the loss of your father, Jimmie. We knew of him through Gibble and we know how much he cared for and respected your Dad. Jimmie and Gibble worked well together and developed a mutual respect it seems. It meant a lot to both of them to have someone in China they could trust and depend upon. I have known Gibble for a few years and he genuinely cared about Jimmie. I am happy Jimmie had him around especially in the last year. Jimmie, from what I can gather from the little I know of him, was quite a character in his younger days.His final years were different and now may he have peace and rest. May you also have peace and rest now too.

Message to Vicki:
The physical body, as it is, comes and goes, the eternal "self" does not. I have been chanting for James since his death and I hope he will be relieved of the worldly sufferings. May he quickly reach the other shore and attain nirvana. Om mani padme hum.
